Ping Pong. The Perfect Brain Game

 Meet the founders!

PPG was founded by Maureen McComsey and Trent MacLean in early 2021. As a social impact strategist, Maureen has expertise in creating business partnerships for global causes and helping brands integrate impact into their core business. Trent is a well-known business consultant in the consumer sector who is on his own personal journey with Parkinson’s, managing his symptoms with an aggressive exercise program, including ping pong. We have assembled a team of experts in Neurology, Brain Health, Fitness and Table Tennis in developing PPG’s programs.

 What we do

Ping Pong for Good is a movement for brain health and a new way to move utilizing a ping-pong-inspired program. We are on a mission to improve the lives of those living with neurological conditions and help individuals achieve better brain health at any age.

With our two cornerstone programs, PPG Therapy and PPG Fitness, we have reimagined playing ping pong and exercises inspired by the game into a brain training activity with therapeutic benefits well beyond recreational and competitive play typically associated with it. By creating a series of drills and incorporating challenges such as dual-tasking, we’re maximizing the benefits while still retaining the fun factor of playing. We make fitness and physical therapy fun and something people want to do.

Populations Who Can Benefit From Ping Pong:

• Parkinson’s Disease

• Dementia & Alzheimer’s

• Multiple Sclerosis

• Active Aging

• Stroke

• Traumatic Brain Injury

I am a regular participant in PPG Fitness for Parkisnon’s. After each session, I feel like a new man, I’m more energetic, more cheerful. I feel like I can move and relax with my own body.

The program is run by people who know the sport and know how to make people better at it and accept me from where I am.

-Ted

After each session, I feel my symptoms are less troublesome; my hands respond better and my movements are more fluid. I also feel more relaxed and upbeat thanks to the exercise, of course, but I mostly credit it to the positive energy of the participants and staff. I feel supported and find comfort among people who, like me, have PD or understand the struggle.”

- Yvonne

“I feel lucky that I’m participating in the program! I feel it is a privilege to be able to be guided by real pros in their fields plus I love the game. I also like the opportunity to be in the Parkinsons community doing something proactive for our health.

When I am learning and practicing the new physical skills, I love the physical and mental challenge. It's as if I can actually feel my brain creating new neural pathways. When I playing I need to be fully physically and mentally present. I am in the moment!

- Farrel

“Tonight was so much fun, and I'm so glad there's a place for me and my dad to go and hang out together. I can't wait for the next time!”

- Kasey

The spirit was uplifting. The people were kind, everybody was welcoming and there was so much individual attention. It’s given us some hope and some joy and that’s been really important for us. It just fills my heart.

- Fran
