Maureen McComsey, Co-Founder

Maureen McComsey is a social impact strategist with over two decades of experience. Recognizing the incredible potential of ping pong as a catalyst for brain health and healthy aging, she launched Ping Pong for Good to raise awareness about its myriad benefits for people living with neurological conditions, neurodivergence and healthy aging. With her expertise in social innovation and an unwavering dedication to positive change, Maureen and her co-founder, Trent MacLean, are leading a movement utilizing ping pong-as a tool to optimize brain and body health.

Trent MacLean, Co-Founder

Trent MacLean is an expert in the apparel and retail industry, bringing a wealth of experience as the co-founder of Ping Pong for Good on multiple fronts. In 2011, Trent received a life-changing diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease, after experiencing symptoms for over 30 years. He attributes his rigorous and consistent exercise program, including ping pong, to effectively managing its symptoms. With his unique perspective and unwavering determination, Trent plays a vital role in shaping the vision of Ping Pong for Good, providing hope and inspiration for individuals affected by Parkinson's and other neurological conditions. His objective is to halt the progression of his PD and his re-discovery of ping pong has opened up a whole new world of possibilities and learning.



Our Experts

Dr. Melita Petrossian, Advisory Board Member

Dr. Melita Petrossian is a fellowship-trained neurologist and movement disorders specialist and is the Director of the Pacific Movement Disorders Center located at Providence Saint John’s Health Center. Dr. Petrossian’s focus is on a multidisciplinary approach to these movement disorders. In coordination with physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other specialists as necessary she treats motor and non-motor symptoms of PD and other movement disorders. In addition, Dr. Petrossian serves as principal investigator for clinical trials seeking to improve treatment of essential tremor, PD, and dementia with Lewy bodies. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) and Movement Disorders Society (MDS).

Ryan Glatt | MSc. Applied Neuroscience NSCA-CPT
Head of Education

Ryan Glatt is a Neuroscience, Health & Fitness Professional and Researcher and a Certified Brain Health Coach and Program Director and the Pacific Brain Health Center where he leads our PPG Therapy pilot program. He is also a lead program advisor for the PPG Fitness for PD test group. He has completed the APDA Parkinson's Training program in 2020 , a MSc of Applied Neuroscience at the King's College of London in 2021, and currently enrolled in a PhD program for Concordia of Chicago.

Dr. Corwin Patis, Physical Therapy, DPT, CEEAA, LSVT-BIG, CSCS

Experienced in and passionate about developing and providing innovative physical therapy interventions for patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and Alzheimer’s Disease (AD). Excels in treating neurodegenerative diseases, geriatric gait and balance deficits, as well as high-level sports and orthopedic pathologies.

Alex Figueroa, Sport & Competition Consultant
Head of Table Tennis

Alex Figueroa is a highly accomplished table tennis coach and sports consultant with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and Sports Kinesiology. As a competition manager for the ITTF, he has played a pivotal role in organizing international top-level tournaments and promoting table tennis as a team sport for all ages. Alex's expertise extends to sports consulting for both competition and fundraising and events. With his passion for the sport and dedication to accessibility, Alex continues to inspire and empower others to excel in table tennis.

Luba Sadovska | Professional Table Tennis Coach, Coach Developer, Learning Facilitator and Coach Evaluator

Luba Sadovska started playing Table Tennis at the age of 8 in a small town in Czechoslovakia and made it to the Junior National team. She is Table Tennis Canada’s Master Coach Developer and International ITTF PTT Level 1 certified coach. She has a wide range of experience within Table Tennis; from competing, coaching individual player and group development, teaching physical literacy in schools, inclusion and disability coaching, a coach, educator, including as a head coach at Parkinson’s Table Tennis Camp.

Matt Hetherington | Professional Table Tennis Coach, JOOLA Marketing Specialist

Matt is a well-known figure in the global table tennis community as a Team JOOLA player and coach and through his extensive social media platforms. His interest spans all corners of the sport including Ping Pong for Good’s efforts to make ping pong more accessible and to improve people’s lives through the game.

Bernard Baski | Founder TrifitLA, Fitness Coach and Elite Athlete Coach

Sports and fitness have always been at the center of Bernard’s life, which began with fifteen years of amateur and professional hockey training with Canada’s top coaches. His desire to help other young up-and-coming hockey players excel was the turning point of his career. His devotion to the sport of hockey motivated him to pursue a career as a trainer and a coach at one of Canada’s top internationally renowned training camps. His experience with aerobic, anaerobic, and strength training allowed him to develop a successful training formula for athletes of all ability levels.
